One of Tanzania's best kept secrets is the fact that nearly half of the Mara River is situated in the North Serengeti versus the Masai Mara's segment in Kenya.

We will pick you from your hotel in Arusha town to start your Mara river crossing safari trip. Our first Mara river safari destination is Tarangire National Park, known for its big herds of elephants. We explore the wildlife park in a customized 4x4 safari vehicle with a pop-up roof for maximum visibility. During our game drive, we stop for a picnic lunch in the African bush. Tarangire hosts an array of wild animals, including lions and buffalos, as well as various antelopes, wildebeest, giraffes, and zebras. The national park covers some 2600km² of wilderness, characterized by undulating plains dotted with baobab and acacia trees. After our wildlife safari in Tarangire National Park, we head to our first overnight stay at a safari lodge a short drive from the park.
Pick up from the hotel and we take a short pleasant drive to Ngorongoro crate, we will have an early morning game drive inside the Crater. The Ngorongoro Conservation Area (NCA) is an extensive highland area along the eastern arm of the Rift Valley, with the world-renowned Ngorongoro Crater as its focal point. Ngorongoro was established to conserve wildlife and other natural resources. It also safeguards the interests of indigenous people and promotes tourism.
Late afternoon drive to the Serengeti NP for evening leisure and overnight.
After breakfast we depart to north Serengeti for wildebeest migration, Resident wildlife numbers are exceptionally high in the Wagakuria area, with prides of lion up to 30 strong, however, from July to October the area turns into a wildlife paradise. The key feature is the Mara River and it is not uncommon to see the herds cross the Mara River north on one day and then back south a few days later. Please take note to actually finding a crossing is very difficult and is sometimes a matter of luck. Evening drive to Mara heritage tented camp for overnight.
After breakfast, enjoy a full day game drive in the Wagakuria area. Resident wildlife numbers are exceptionally high in this area of the park, with prides of lion up to 30 strong, however, from August to October the area turns into a wildlife paradise. The key feature is the Mara River and it is not uncommon to see the herds cross the Mara River north on one day and then back south a few days later. Please take note Finding a crossing is very difficult and is sometimes a matter of luck. A herd can be seen next to river and only decide to cross or not cross until a couple of days later. This area is a stunning region with kopjes, woodland, riverine vegetation and open plains, similar to Kenya’s Masai Mara Game Reserve. After game drive, evening drive to Mara heritage tented camp for overnight.
You will rise in the early morning to a hot cup of coffee or tea and leave camp for an exciting morning game drive to the heart of Serengeti. You will view the wildlife at their most active time of day and enjoy an African sunrise. The mornings are chilly so don’t forget some warm clothes. After your sunrise game drive you will drive back to camp for brunch.
After brunch you will check-out and embark on another game drive through the Ngorongoro Conservation area to Arusha for drop off at your hotel.
