This unique private bike trip covers a 62 mile (100km) circuit over three days, touring through the UNESCO listed World Heritage Castle House villages that make up Kaiping County. This is an area that first saw mass immigration to the West and subsequent returning wealth and architecture a century ago. Pass through sky high bamboo forests, hidden majestic mansions and bustling market towns. This tour is cost inclusive from start to end plus a souvenir cycling shirt for all participants!
You will have an e-ticket for your train and need to check in by 8 AM. You will proceed through customs and immigration for entry into China at the station and board the train. Our guide will be waiting for you as you exit your train at Jiangmen High Speed Rail Station.
A 2-hour high-speed train journey will bring us to Jiangmen for our entry procedures into China. You will be travelling on G6048 10:18-12:09. A 1-hour coach ride brings us to Kaiping and lunch. From here, we will cycle along the river to Chi Kan Village from Nan Lou - the Southern Defense Tower. Continuing from Chikan District to Ma Jiang Long and Jin Jiang Li, historic castle house villages. After exploration, we will ride back via Chikan to settle into our quirky, museum-style lodging, the Diaomin Tribe Boutique Hostel. Today's cycle journey will be around 17 miles ( 27 km). Dinner and Overnight
Today’s castle lane brings you to the mansions of Li Yuan and then on to Zili Village f. The cycling distance around these two stops of interest is 6 miles. Once you have finished your exploration of Zili Village, you will cycle about 4 miles to village “49” and then bus or ride 6.5 miles to your lunch spot at Sha Hu (Sandy Lake). The afternoon ride will be mostly village paths, forest trails, and roads, not very famous but beautiful. The whole cycle distance today will be around 25 miles (40 km). After a fantastic ride today, we will be back for our second night in the same lodging and dinner nearby
After breakfast and check-out of our lodging, we will explore the castle houses and villages of Chikan, south of the river, in a loop. It will be a 25-mile (40km) journey with lunch somewhere along the way. Late afternoon, we need to make our 1-hour journey back to the Jiangmen High Speed Rail Station for our clearing of immigration and boarding our return train to Kowloon, Hong Kong. Our train will be G6046 departing at 18:11 and arriving at West Kowloon Station at 19:59
