  Cenote Ik kil

  El Cenote is one of the most famous and spectacular cenotes in the Yucatan Peninsula, located near Chichen Itza. Travelers visiting this stunning cenote will enjoy a unique experience in a natural environment of unrivalled beauty. What you will see: An open type cenote: The cenote has a circular opening surrounded by limestone walls covered with hanging vegetation, like lianas and tree roots descending to the water. The sunlight illuminates the crystal clear water, giving it a deep blue color that changes shade according to the time of day. Flora and fauna: Tropical plants such as palms and ferns can be seen in the surrounding area, as well as birds such as swallows nesting in the walls of the cenote. Sometimes it is possible to spot small fish swimming in the water. The cenote has stone stairs that descend to water level, access platforms, lounge areas, dressing rooms and a nearby restaurant with panoramic views.
