Fez is Morocco's spiritual and intellectual capital, and this private day trip takes you there from Casablanca and back with your own English speaking driver/guide, so the day runs on your schedule.
You are collected from your accommodation in the morning and travel north east across the plains to Fez. The day begins at the Royal Palace, Dar el Makhzen, where seven monumental brass doors set in cedar and zellige tilework face a public square, then Bab Boujloud, the blue and green tiled gate into the old city.
Inside the walls you explore Fez el Bali, the UNESCO listed medina and one of the largest car free urban areas in the world, walk the Al Quaraouiyine quarter, home to the university founded in 859, and look down over the Chouara tanneries from a terrace, where hides are still worked by hand in stone vats.
The day finishes at a panoramic viewpoint above the city before the drive back to Casablanca. Hotel pickup and drop off, fuel, tolls, water and on board Wi-Fi are included.
