Experience the stillness of the Finnish Arctic after dark on a private Northern Lights viewing tour from Rovaniemi, with your own car and English speaking driver/guide. Begin near the Arctic Garden on the banks of the Ounasjoki River for a first look at the northern sky, then continue to the forested slopes of Ounasvaara, away from the brighter city surroundings.
Travel into the countryside to the open shores of Lake Olkkajärvi, where dark skies and broad views across the lake make a beautiful place to wait beneath the stars. Depending on time, weather and road conditions, continue to the Arctic Circle Hiking Area for Lapland's quiet forests.
The route is a suggestion rather than fixed stops, and your driver/guide picks the most suitable spots on the night. The Northern Lights are a natural phenomenon and sightings cannot be guaranteed. This is a relaxed viewing tour, not a professional aurora hunt, with no specialist forecasting or photography. Food and drinks are not included.
