This tour has one guide: me. I’m Murillo, born in Rio, and I’ve led every one of these tours since 2018. If only one person books, we still go. Solo travelers make up a big part of my groups, and nobody gets a last-minute cancellation for coming alone.
The group never goes above 8, so it feels like going out with friends, not following a tour group. Everything is included: 8 to 14 small plates I pick myself, plus beer, wine and a local cocktail. No bill at the end, no counting drinks.
The 4 bars are Copacabana botecos where Cariocas actually go: two long-running classics and two newer places locals love, none of them built for tourists. Open to everyone and LGBTQIA+ friendly

Meeting and pickup
Please arrive 5-10min before the tour starts. We will meet at: Rua Siqueira Campos, 90 in the Lobby of the Hotel Atlantico Copacabana. (https://maps.app.goo.gl/F7B41eduUf1e5mkR9) **IMPORTANT**: There are more than one Hotel Atlantico. Make sure you are heading to the correct one.
What to expect
At each bar we share small plates (petiscos, Brazilian bar food), 8 to 14 across the tour depending on group size. Expect seafood tapas, finger food and some fermented dishes. I choose every plate, and the menu stays a surprise until it hits the table. Beer, wine and a local cocktail are included, poured at the pace of the tour rather than counted. Not drinking alcohol? Order any non-alcoholic drink the bar has.
Between stops I’ll tell you how these bars shaped Copacabana and what each one is known for. Most walks take about 5 minutes, with one longer walk of 15 to 20 minutes.
The group is never bigger than 8, and the tour runs even if you’re the only guest. Pescatarians and vegetarians can be accommodated (vegetarians get a reduced experience); vegans can’t. The tour ends near Rua Barata Ribeiro, 4 - 20min from the meeting point.
