    What's happened during World War II in Monopoli and generally speaking in Puglia and in Italy? Come and get to know the History of Italy from 1940 to 1945, understanding how the Fascism was born and developed, and how it affected the everyday life of the people. The guided tour in Monopoli during World War II will start in Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II, simbolic location in the modern city center, where we'll discover the origins and evolution of the square and will admire the monuments still existing. We'll learn more about the details of the War that shocked the whole world, and about the figure of Mussolini and his regime. Visiting the air-raid shelters underneath the square, restored and reopened to the public, and then we'll pay tribute to Monument to those Lost at Sea in Largo Fontanelle. It's a tour focused on historical facts in which we'll try to retrace the most significant moments of the Second World War, through photos of the time and the places of Memory still preserved in Monopoli.
