The name Amboseli comes from the Maasai word "empusel," meaning a salty, dusty place. And yet, there’s much more to Amboseli National Park, a relatively small reserve located in southern Kenya. It covers an area of approximately 150 square miles, including wide-open areas of savannah grassland, tangled acacia forests, and the dried-up bed of Lake Amboseli. Above it all stands the park’s crowning glory, Mount Kilimanjaro, which is visible from across the Tanzanian border.

  • Amboseli National Park (Pass by)

    Your driver guide will pick you at exactly 0530 Hrs after which you'll embark your journey to Amboseli Naitional Park. The main Nairobi-Mombasa road leads southeast, falling around 500 meters from the 1,661 meters altitude of Nairobi to Emali. From Emali, the road runs south before turning in a northwesterly direction and passing to the north of Mount Kilimanjaro before reaching Amboseli. The distance from Nairobi is about 250kms which is about 4 hours drive. Upon arrival you will start your game drive where you'll have an experience to spot the elephants of Amboseli. Zebras, lions and other variety of wildlife can spotted as well. Depending with the weather during the day, you might as well see the Africa's tallest mountain, Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania. There will be break for lunch in one of the lodges inside the park either Oltukai Lodge or Amboseli Serena Lodge. Afterwards, there is an enroute game drive as you proceed to exit the park. Near the main gate you have an option of visiting the Maasai village at usd 20 per person. You will then proceed to Nairobi arriving betweet 1800 Hrs and 2000 Hrs.
