Dive deeper into the Bolivian Amazon on this 5-day journey through Madidi National Park and the Pampas del Yacuma—two of the planet’s richest ecosystems. Stay in eco-lodges run by Indigenous communities and spend one night camping in the jungle, all while supporting sustainable tourism. Guided by local experts, you’ll cruise rivers, hike rainforest trails, and experience unforgettable wildlife encounters in the heart of nature.
The tour includes pick-up upon arrival at the airport or from your accommodation in Rurrenabaque. At the end of the tour, you’ll be dropped off at either your Rurrenabaque accommodation or the airport.
Pick up and navigate through Beni and Tuichi - We will start the tour at 8:30 AM. heading to the community, where we will learn about the way of life in the jungle. During the boat trip on the Beni and Tuichi rivers, we will enjoy spectacular landscapes such as the Bala canyon. Around noon, we will arrive at our Eco lodge.
Hike through the jungle - In the afternoon we will have a hike through the trails designed to observe wild animals such as monkeys, wild boars, birds, and many insects. We will learn all about the nature of the place, its fauna and flora.
Camping in the Amazon - We have breakfast at 7:30 a.m. and we will pack our backpacks, sleeping bag, mat, and mosquito net to spend a night camping in the jungle. We will walk for about 4 hours until we reach our refuge, where we will have lunch and time to rest.
Hike to the mountain of the birds - In the early afternoon, we will take a hike to the mountain where spectacular native bird species such as macaws and parrots nest. From there we will be able to observe these colorful birds, the unique landscape of the forest and the impressive sunset.
Night hike - At night, we will have the possibility to take a short hike in search of armadillos, snakes, night monkeys, tapirs, nocturnal birds, etc. During the night, it is possible to hear the characteristic roar of the jaguar.
Hike around the lodge - We will wake up at 5:00 a.m. to take a short hike around the lodge and enjoy the concerts of howler monkeys and birds that welcome the new day.
Tuichi River Boat Ride - At the Tuichi River, where we will build a raft made of logs like those of the indigenous people of the Amazon. With that raft or a normal boat if you prefer, we will descend the river. We will have lunch at the Eco Lodge and in the afternoon the guide will propose some group activities.
Drive to Santa Rosa - We will wake up at 6:00 a.m. for breakfast, and then we will set off to Rurrenabaque, from where we will depart to Santa Rosa. During the trip we will be able to observe anteaters, sloths, and toucans among other animals. Around noon and after a short boat ride, we will arrive at our Eco Lodge, check in and have lunch.
Yacuma River and Pink Dolphins - After a well-deserved rest we will take a boat ride on the Yacuma River to observe lizards, caimans, birds, and turtles among others. Before returning to the lodge and depending on the time of the year, we will have the opportunity to swim with pink dolphins.
Sunrise in the jungle - We will wake up at 5:00 a.m. to enjoy a unique sunrise and listen to the awakening of the Pampa, a concert of bird sounds and howler monkeys. At the end of the sunrise, we will have breakfast and go out again by boat on the Yacuma River.
In search of the Anaconda and return - We go back into the jungle in search of the impressive anaconda. During the tour we will observe birds, capybaras, caimans and turtles, among other beautiful animals. In the afternoon, after lunch, our transportation will take us to Rurrenabaque where we will put an end to this experience.
