  You’ll meet at 4:00 a.m. at the designated spot in the port area of Punta Arenas, close to Muelle Prat. The exact meeting point will be included in your reservation confirmation. Once you’ve checked in, you’ll hop on a minibus for a 50-minute ride to the pier in Bahía Carrera. Prefer to drive yourself? You can head straight to Bahía Carrera and meet us at the pier by 5:00 a.m. to begin the tour.

  Fuerte Bulnes

  Your journey begins as you set sail! In the early part of the trip, you’ll be greeted by a spectacular sunrise over Tierra del Fuego, offering picturesque views of Fuerte Bulnes. This historic landmark, the first Chilean structure built along the Strait of Magellan, stands proudly against the colorful glow of the morning sky—an unforgettable sight! As you continue, you’ll also pass by the iconic San Isidro Lighthouse, enhancing the charm of this extraordinary experience.

  Cabo Froward

  Next, you’ll sail by Cape Froward, the southernmost tip of continental America. From the boat, you’ll catch glimpses of elephant seals and sea lions relaxing on the rocky shores in the distance. The trip from the pier to Cape Froward takes about an hour and a half, giving you ample time to enjoy the breathtaking landscapes and spot wildlife along the route.

  Your journey continues with two more hours of sailing until you arrive at the breathtaking Francisco Coloane Marine Park. Here, you’ll have the chance to marvel at majestic humpback whales and observe an array of seabirds, including cormorants, skuas, petrels, and albatrosses. Keep an eye out for sea lions and elephant seals lounging along the shores. If luck is on your side, you might even catch sight of orcas gliding gracefully through their natural habitat.   The journey back to the pier takes approximately three and a half hours, giving you plenty of time to take in the breathtaking scenery of this secluded part of Patagonia. You’ll arrive at Bahía Carrera around 4:00 p.m. If you began your tour at Bahía Carrera, this will be the conclusion of your incredible whale-watching experience in the Strait of Magellan. If your day started in Punta Arenas, you’ll hop on a minibus for a 50-minute drive back to the city, arriving around 5:00 p.m. It’s the perfect way to wrap up a memorable day filled with wildlife sightings and awe-inspiring landscapes!
