Meeting point

The meeting point is at 9:20 a.m. at the Buenavista del Norte central bus station. Your guide will wait for you right in front of the ticket office of the bus station. You will find free public parking in the streets of the village. I recommend parking in front of the petrol station.

What to expect

We will reach the starting point of the hike by public bus. You will hike on ancient and remote paths through the Teno Nature Park in the northwest of Tenerife. It is one of the island's most beautiful natural areas that has preserved most of its ecological, scenic and cultural wealth, largely thanks to its isolated position. Once you have set your eyes on the volcanic topography of the area, it will be incredible to think that people used to live there. You will have panoramic views of La Gomera & La Palma island, magnificent cliffs, valleys and laurel forests and we'll pass through old villages with wonderful pieces of traditional architecture. On this hiking tour you have the possibility to taste typical regional gastronomy and products like goat cheese and meat, wine and pastries in a local bar (optional). At the end of the hike the public bus will bring us to the meeting point in Buenavista del Norte. Discover the ancient trails of the mountain shepherds, the traditions, the local culture, the gastronomy and the way of life of this rural environment with unforgettable panoramic views! Distance 9 km. Walking time approx. 4 hours. Elevation gain +/- 535 m. Medium difficulty.
