Situated at the northwestern tip of the Tonle Sap Lake within a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, this 31,282-hectare protected wetland harbors over 150 bird species. It serves as a vital global stronghold for critically rare, large-winged birds that have been driven near extinction elsewhere. After 1 hour on the cruise boat from Mechrey Floating village then we will arrive at the Prek Toal floating village—one of the lake's largest floating communities. Here, your main transport switches to small, quiet oar boats or specialized local park vessels to smoothly navigate the dense, flooded mangrove forests without startling the colonies.
