Your private guide-driver will collect you from your hotel at 8:00am in Cape Town or surrounding areas located within a 10-kilometre radius of Cape Town city centre. Travel in a comfortable, air-conditioned private vehicle to the Nelson Mandela Gateway at the V&A Waterfront.
Arrive at the Nelson Mandela Gateway at the V&A Waterfront and check in for the 09:00 ferry to Robben Island. Board the ferry and travel across Table Bay to the UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The official Robben Island experience normally includes a guided bus tour of the island and a visit to the Maximum Security Prison Museum. Learn about the island’s political, cultural and historical significance and hear stories about the people who were imprisoned there. The Robben Island tour is conducted by official Robben Island Museum guides and is shared with other visitors. All guests must have a clear photograph or digital copy of their passport or identification document saved on their mobile phone. The full name provided when booking must match the identification document.
After the tour of Robben Island, you will return to the Nelson Mandela Gateway to Robben Island in the V&A Waterfront. Guests may have lunch at one of the Waterfront’s restaurants, cafés or food outlets. Lunch, drinks and personal expenses are for your own account. Guests who do not wish to have lunch may browse the shops, take photographs or explore the Waterfront.
Visit the Two Oceans Aquarium and discover the marine life found along the southern African coastline, where the Atlantic and Indian Oceans meet. Depending on the animals and exhibits available during your visit, you may see: African penguins and rockhopper penguins Ragged-tooth sharks and other shark species Stingrays Sea turtles Jellyfish Seahorses Moray eels Octopuses Colourful tropical fish Rock lobsters Anemones Kelp forest marine life Large ocean fish Explore the Aquarium’s major exhibits at your own pace, including its shark exhibit, penguin habitat, ocean displays and living kelp forest. The Aquarium visit is generally self-guided.
Complete the day with a standard ride on the Cape Wheel at the V&A Waterfront. Travel approximately 40 metres above the Waterfront in a fully enclosed observation cabin and enjoy panoramic views across Cape Town. Depending on the weather and visibility, views may include: Table Mountain Signal Hill Cape Town Stadium Granger Bay Robben Island Cape Town city centre The V&A Waterfront The surrounding mountains and coastline A standard Cape Wheel ride is included. VIP cabin upgrades, photographs and other optional extras are not included.
Meet your private guide-driver after the Cape Wheel experience and return to your accommodation. Estimated drop-off is at approximately 17:00. The final drop-off time may vary because of ferry operations, attraction queues, weather and traffic conditions.
