What to expect

Tokyo fish markets have been changing and growing. For a long time, Tsukiji Fish Market was the go-to destination for fresh seafood in the capital. In 2018, most businesses moved to Toyosu, which has stricter rules for tourists and remains hard to visit. This is where Adachi, Tsukiji’s sister neighborhood, comes in. While it was never really in the spotlight, Adachi Fish Market is a long-standing source of the freshest seafood in Tokyo. And being off the radar means it’s largely unchanged and a perfect place to enjoy that traditional market feeling.
