The best place to start our tour is on the stairs across Decatur Street from famous Jackson Square. A short cab, Lyft, or Uber ride will take you to the Square from anywhere in the city. Or if you are staying in the Quarter, it should be a reasonable walk.
Café du Monde, or “Café of the World,” is a traditional coffee shop, which specializes in beignets and café au lait. This is the last stop of our tour. To return to the starting point walk southwest down Decatur for a half of a block.

Faulkner lived here for six months, sharing the building with artist William Spratling.
