Gandhiji moved his ashram from Kochrab ashram to Sabarmati ashram in 1917. From this location Gandhiji developed his non- cooperation movement, even beginning of salt march was from this site.
The factory transforms the scraps of waste cotton into paper, which was one of the cottage industries introduced by Gandhi. No chemicals are used in the process of transforming the cotton into paper.
The temple belongs to a Hindu religious and social organization within the Swaminarayan branch of Hinduism called BAPS (Bochasanwasi Akshar Purushottam Sanstha).
The Gurukulam is a school that follows the ancient Indian education system like Takshshila, Nalanda and Vikramshila where a student has to stay with his teacher and uses traditional and sustainable materials and methods.
