Riomaggiore is the first of the Cinque Terre and is considered the Head Quarters of the National Park of Cinque Terre. It is known for its historic character, produced in the town's vineyards. Riomaggiore is not a fishermen village, as you may think, but a farmers village. In fact its typical dishes are a savory rice cake and ravioli.
Manarola is the oldest of the Cinque Terre towns. It is characterized by bright colored houses, often celebrated in paintings. Here village fairs are very important, especially August 10th the Saint Lawrence celebration, where you can admire the shooting stars on the sea surrounded by the beauties of Manarola.
Vernazza is unique because it has no traffic and has remained at its original state. It is one of the truest "fishing villages" on the Italian Riviera. Here you will enjoy a delicious lunch.
Monterosso is the biggest of the Cinque Terre and is divided into two distinct parts: the old town and the new town. It is located in the middle of a gulf, where a the Aurora tower rises and is surrounded by medieval ruins.
