Zhangjiajie Wulingyuan Scenic Area
Today's tour will start with a bus ride to a less visited Wulingyuan Gate. On the way to the park you will see the countryside and Zhangjiajie natives with their minority culture and their idyllic daily life. Before you check out your hotel and head out to start the tour today, you will store your big check-in luggage in the hotel. Because tonight you will stay a night on the mountaintop in the forest park. It will be a little hard to take big luggage and explore the moutain at the same time. So you only take small luggage with you for one night stay on the mountaintop and come back tomorrow. A spectacular area stretching over more than 26,000 ha in Hunan Province, the site is dominated by more than 3,000 narrow sandstone pillars and peaks, many over 200 m high. Between the peaks lie ravines and gorges with streams, pools and waterfalls, some 40 caves, and two large natural bridges. Today you will visit Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, the best part of Wulingyuan Scenic Area.

Zhangjiajie National Forest Park
In 1982, the park was recognized as China's first national forest park with an area of 4,810 ha (11,900 acres). Zhangjiajie National Forest Park is part of a much larger 397.5 km2 (153.5 sq mi) Wulingyuan Scenic Area. In 1992, Wulingyuan was officially recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It was then approved by the Ministry of Land and Resources as Zhangjiajie Sandstone Peak Forest National Geopark (3,600 km2 (1,400 sq mi)) in 2001. In 2004, Zhangjiajie geopark was listed as a UNESCO global geopark. The most notable geographic features of the park are the pillar-like formations that are seen throughout the park. Although resembling karst terrain, this area is not underlain by limestones and is not the product of chemical dissolution.

Tianzi Mountain
It's the best part of Zhangjiajie National Forest Park. It's also the highest peak among the mountains in Wulingyuan. Highest spot is over 4,000 feet (1.26 kilometers). Sometimes the clouds is low, and you will stand above the clouds, then you could see the Tianzi Mountain Clouds. You will also see Xihai Stone Forest.

Tianzi Mountain Clouds
If the weather is good. Some times there are clouds, and you could see the beautiful clouds there. Especilly when the clouds is low, and you will see the amazing view that you and the pillars are above the clouds.

West Sea Stone Forest is one of the most stunning view you could get at Yunqing Rock sightseeing platform on the top of Tianzi Mountain. Need good weather as well.

Zhangjiajie to Fenghuang, Visiting Phoenix Ancient Town

Tianmen Mountain National Forest Park
Then visiting Tianmen Mountain. It's one of the two must-see attractions in Zhangjiajie (one is Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, another is this one Tianmen Mountain). You will see 999-step stairs Lead the Way to Heaven's Gate, Rock Hole of Heaven's Gate and experience the glass skywalk and riding the longest cable car of the world. The entrance ticket including cable car ride. It excludes the optional chairlift ride on the mountaintop and a short distance escalator ride.

At the end of the tour, drop you off at Zhangjiajie airport or train station. Wishing you have a pleasant journey to your next destination and Looking forward to see you again in the future. If your flight will depart Zhangjiajie in the morning of the following day after this tour, you could book a hotel in Yongding district of Zhangjiajie (this area is close to Zhangjiajie airport and Zhangjiajie train station) for the 4th night of your Zhangjiajie trip. At the end of the tour, drop you off at your hotel in Yongding district instead of the airport. And you will go to the airport next day by yourself.
