Discover the Big 5 on a full-day open-vehicle safari to Pilanesberg National Park, just 2.5 hours from Johannesburg. Set in a spectacular ancient volcanic crater, this malaria-free 55,000-hectare reserve is home to lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, buffalo, plus cheetah, giraffe, zebra, hippo, wild dog, and 365+ bird species.
Your day starts with hotel pickup (06:00–06:30). After a scenic drive, enjoy two thrilling 2.5–3-hour game drives in an open 4×4 with an expert FGASA-qualified guide who shares fascinating wildlife insights and maximises sightings. Break for an included lunch at a rest camp, then head out again when animals are most active.
Depart the park 15:30–16:00 and return to Johannesburg before dark.
