Start your day with a visit to a beautiful city in Battambang, such as a colonial building or provincial hall. Then, go to visit the Tadam Bong Kro Aung statue and learn about its history. Along the road to the next stop, you can stroll along the riverbank, enjoying the scenic views and vibrant local life. Don't forget to stop by the bustling markets to sample delicious street food and pick up unique souvenirs.
After taking some photos on the hanging bridge, cross the Sangke river. Learn about Buddhism at Kampon Pile Pagoda. Next, visit and walk around the Cham and Javanese ethnicity villages to learn about their culture and religion. Enjoy the local people’s lives and taste local snacks in the village.
Upon arrival at the Bamboo Train, take a ride on it for one hour and get an unforgettable experience. Rest assured that they will drive you to the next village, where you can ride it long distance to experience the original bamboo train.
In the afternoon, move to the Wat Banan Temple, where you have to climb up a mountain through the ancient stairs to see the temple. We may visit the locals who bake bamboo sticky rice while traveling and discover how and why the Khmer people do it. Additionally, we will be able to observe fruit bats hanging from trees.
After exploring the temple, move to Phnom Sampov Mountain. See scenic countryside where rice fields are and see farmers working on fields. Move to the Killing Cave (Sampov Mountain), where you will see the victims’ skulls and learn more about the Khmer Rouge. Then, head to the Bat Cave for sunset and enjoy a beer.
