Leave for Kandy in the morning, On route we stop at a Pineapple garden. After we proceed to Royal botanical garden in Peradeniya.
There after visit tea factory and proceed to Kandy. The name Kandy is derived from the Sinhalese. In Sinhala, Kandy is called Maha Nuvara, meaning “Great City” or “Capital”, although this is most often shortened to Nuvara.
We will visit a spice and herbal garden, the Botanical garden, make a visit to the Kandy Temple Dalada Maligawa Temple of the Tooth , we visit the gem museum, see a batik factory, silk factory and on the way back we will visit a Geragama tea factory.
Royal Botanic Gardens, Peradeniya are about 5.5 km to the west of the city of Kandy in the Central Province of Sri Lanka. It attracts 2 million visitors annually. It is near the Mahaweli River (the longest in Sri Lanka). It is renowned for its collection of orchids.
Sri Dalada Maligawa or the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic is a Buddhist temple in the city of Kandy, Sri Lanka. It is located in the royal palace complex of the former Kingdom of Kandy, which houses the relic of the tooth of the Buddha.
Kandy Market Hall is a public municipal market which is close to the clock tower in the centre of the Kandy city.
Regarded as the highest point in Kandy, it is an absolutely breathtaking spot which gives a high angle view of the magnificent city. It’s so relaxing that you would want to sit and watch the fascinating view below all day.
Giragama is one of the premium and the oldest tea plantations in Sri Lanka, located close to Kandy. After enjoying a cup of high grown processed tea, you will set out to explore the plantation to conclude your tour with the tea estate experience. Do not forget to buy couple of tea packs at the end of your visit from the tea shop.
