Selous Game Reserve also known as Nyerere National Park is among the largest, most protected areas in Africa. The reserve is famous for the variety of species it inhabits, with animals such as elephants, cheetahs, giraffes, and many other species. As a participant in this reserve, you will experience exciting activities such as guided bush walks, boat safaris, and game-viewing. You will also enjoy a boat safari in the Rufiji River, where you will see a variety of birds, crocodiles, and hippos.

n the morning, around 7 AM, our driver will pick you up from the airport or hotel and transfer you to Selous National Park, this ride takes about 3 to 4 hours. On your way, you will enjoy the nature and people of Tanzania.
Once you arrive at Nyerere National Park, you will check in at the lodge and have your hot lunch. You will rest for a bit, then you will ride an evening Boat Safari in the Rufiji River for 2-3 hours. This is one of the few places where you will be able to view the wildlife from the water. You will see a variety of birds, crocodiles, hippos, and more.
Game drives are usually the highlights of the safari. They allow you to see a wide variety of wildlife from the comfort of your 4x4 safari jeep. On this day, you will start the game drive early in the morning after breakfast at around 6:30 AM, where you will be searching for Giraffes, Hippos, Crocodiles, Lions, Elephants, and more. Nyerere National Park has the world’s largest population of rare African Wild Dogs. Your guide will introduce you to various African wildlife and share their knowledge of the wildlife and their habitats. You will eat your packed lunch box inside the park. Later in the afternoon, you will go back to African Safari Camp (or similar) for dinner and an overnight stay.
Walking safaris are a fantastic way to get close to nature and learn more about the smallest species that you would not have seen when in the jeep or boat. You will also come closer to big animals like Giraffes and Elephants. Early in the morning, you will start your walking Safari with an armed ranger and a tour guide for 2 – 3 hours, you will then return to your lodge for a breakfast. After breakfast, you will start your trip to Dar Salaam, with lunch on your way. When you arrive in Dar Es Salaam, you will be dropped off at your hotel/airport.
