This Tour will take you to the beautiful Roman Countryside, where some of the most famous wines are produced (and olive oil too). But not only: Renaissance and Baroque Villas overlooking Rome will come along our driving. And again, Lakes and places full of ancient history.
We will meet and pick you up at your accommodation in Rome or near.
Arriving at the airport, meeting and pick up can be at the airport, inside the Arrival Terminal.
With pick up at the Airport or Civitavecchia Port (Cruise Terminal), there will be an extra cost for the Transfer.
Frascati is the main town of the area called "Roman Castles" (Roman Castles), built by Cardinals and Popes mostly in the 1500s and 1600s (the most famous of which is the Villa / Palace of Castel Gandolfo, the Pope's summer residence). Villa Aldobrandini is one of the Frascati's Villas and is positioned in the center of the Town. From here, the Villa overlooks Rome down the valley westbound.
If you wish to taste the wines of this area, we will heat to Monte Porzio Catone, where most of the "Frascati" wine is produced. You will have the chance to visit the vineyards and olive oil tasting.
One of the options in the Roman Countryside, is Villa Mondragone built for Cardinal Marco Altemps in the second half of the 16th Century.
Castel Gandolfo Is a little town on the top of the borders of Lake Albano. Here is the Papal Palace (Papal Palace), the Pope's summer Residence, built in the first half of the 1600s. From here, there's a gorgeous view of (and on) Lake Albano. Here are good options for the lakes' view.
About 20 minute drive from Castel Gandolfo, Nemi is another beautiful Lake (rich in history too) and a pretty little Town. Here is a great food and wine, with different options. Nemi is renowned for its little strawberries.
