The Church of San Luigi dei Francesi (Church of St. Louis of the French) stands right between the Pantheon and Piazza Navona. There you can admire three Caravaggio paintings.
The legend said that St. Peter was jailed twice in Rome before his martyrdom. This church still houses his chains. Also, here you can admire Michelangelo's Moses.
The church was built by the Jesuit architect Orazio Grassi in 1626- Note the exits into ‘the wings’ at the northern end and how the undulating surfaces create the illusion of a larger space.
The Basilica of Saint Mary of the Angels and Martyrs at the Diocletian Baths is the last great architectural project from the genius of Michelangelo. It is a monument to history, to faith, to art and to science.
In the area currently occupied by the Basilica of Saint Mary of Minerva and by the former ex-convent, stood three temples dedicated to Minerva, Isis and Serapis.
