There is a short tar road going up from Theresa Avenue for 100m. It quickly turns to a dirt track and the start of the Kasteelspoort hiking trail. Your guide will be waiting at the top by the 'Camps Bay - Pipetrack' hiking sign.

What to expect

This is a fantastic hike for those wanting to escape the crowds of more popular routes up Table Mountain. We start from the Camps Bay side and head up one of the deep and epic ravines known as Kasteelspoort way. Beautiful views of the Atlantic Ocean below and Lions Head can be had and, once on top, there is the opportunity to visit the Old Cableway and take a picture at the famous ‘Springboard rock’. This is a favourite amongst hikers to Cape Town.
