Your guide will take you around the Vatican Museums showing you its greatest treasures, including works by Raphael, Titian and Caravaggio, as well as tapestries, frescoes, statues and the unparalleled Sistine Chapel. From St Peter’s Basilica you will head underground to the so-called ‘Vatican Grottoes’ where a great many of the popes have been buried, including ones from the most prominent Italian families such as the Medici, Barberini, Chigi and Farnese. You will learn all about the architecture, art and history of what you see, all from your certified guide, as you marvel at the beauty of the Vatican.
