Enter the Colosseum with your guide and enter into a world of gladiators and entertainment as you learn about the construction of the incredible monument and its history. One of the New 7 Wonders of the World, the Flavian Amphitheatre, as it would have been known when it was inaugurated nearly 2000 years ago, is a feat of architectural engineering that has become an icon of Rome and the ancient world and is still a fascinating place to visit.
In the Forum you will walk amongst the ruins of the heart of ancient life and hear about the men and women who carried out their day-to-day life here and the officials who conducted the business of the city.
On the Palatine Hill, the supposed birthplace of Rome where legend has it that Romulus founded the city, you will see the remarkable remains of the emperors’ palaces and temples, as well as a view over the Forum and the Circus Maximus.

    Your Ancient Rome tour begins at the Colosseum, and walk straight into the global icon of Rome. With access to the arena floor, stride out through the gladiator’s gate and stand where the gladiators fought for their lives. Look down into the arena dungeons and gaze skyward to see the immense Colosseum all around you.

    Continue on to the Roman Forum, the social, political and religious hub of Ancient Rome. Feel transported back in time as you admire the towering ruins that have survived millennia, and listen as your guide enthrals you with stories of political treachery and drama. Discover the House of the Vestal Virgins and the Temple of Saturn, amongst many of the other impressive ruins.

    Complete your tour as you climb the Palatine Hill. Believed to be the founding place for Rome as a city, the hill became the richest neighbourhood of Ancient Rome. Admire the remains of the opulent villas, and look out from the hill for one of the best views of Rome. Reflect on the past and present of the Eternal City as your tour draws to a close.
