This magnificent Fort, sitting on the rugged hills outside the town of Jaipur, is an example of the fascinating blend of Hindu and Muslim architecture made from red sandstone and white marble. The highlight of the fort is the Sheesh Mahal (Mirror Palace), a palace known for its craftsmanship in mirrors. Fort served as the main residence of the Rajput Rulers with its large ramparts, several gateways, and paved paths used to serve as the capital of the erstwhile Jaipur princely state.
Jal Mahal, an architectural beauty, seems it be floating prettily right in the centre of the Man Sagar Lake. This low-rise symmetrical Palace was once a shooting lodge for the Maharajas. The most striking feature of this palace is that while only one storey that appears above the water level, there are 4 storeys submerged underneath. The entry inside is prohibited, but it has still become a true tourist delight.

The honeycomb-shaped and beautifully carved 953 windows allow the breeze to blow through the palace and make it a perfect summer palace.
