Sicilian puppets in Syracuse: show with behind-the-scenes visit

Born between the mid-nineteenth century and the first half of the twentieth century, puppets and marionettes are part of the tradition and craftsmanship of Sicily.

Let yourself be carried away by the stories - which tell of valiant knights, ladies and sorcerers - taken from ancient novels and poems of the Carolingian era, represented in the splendid setting of the puppet theater in Syracuse, the city's reference point for art and culture.

At the end of the show there will be a visit behind the scenes of the theater to learn about the work that lies behind the curtain, the secrets and the figures who work there, to learn in detail all the work, dedication and passion that moves this tradition secular.

You will be led by the "puppeteers" to the places where ideas come to life, where the puppets are born and where the costumes are made, you will travel into the past listening to their stories, their tales and you will relive the deeds of the brave knights of the past.
