The catacombs attracted attention of the crusaders who arrived on the island in the 13th century. The walls and vaults of the grottoes were painted by their artists. Now unfortunately only small fragments remain. The Catacombs of St. Solomonia is the only one underground church in the world. There is also invisible source and near the entrance is an ancient Wish Tree. There are a full colored ribbons on the tree. It has made wishes.
