Pickup at 5am from your hotel or airport in Delhi, and transfer to New Delhi Railway Station where you board your Superfast train to city of the Taj Mahal, Agra. Your super-fast train Shatabdi Exp (Train No. 12002) departs at 6am from New Delhi Railway Station (Breakfast will be served on board, while you enjoy the countryside during the 2-hour trip)
Arrival at 8am in Agra Railway Station you will be met by your representative/driver at the main exit gate with your name placard. First we visit the wonderful Taj Mahal, a Unesco World Heritage Site, and the world's best-known tomb, standing testimony to the timeless love story of the 17th century Mughal Emperor, Shah Jahan and his queen Mumtaz Mahal. (Taj Mahal remains closed on Fridays)
Next we visit Agra Fort, another UNESCO World Heritage Site, built by Emperor Akbar in 1565 A.D. and made of red sandstone. The maze of the courtyards, mosques, and private chambers of the fort echo the story of the Mughal Empire.
After lunch break you may wish to enjoy shopping in Agra is known for its fabulous handicrafts, made of marble and softstone inlay work. Agra's major handicraft products besides inlay work are leatherware, brassiere, carpets, jewelry, and embroidery work.
After a memorable day leave for 4-Hrs drive to the old walled city of Jaipur. Founded by Maharaja Jai Singh II, this ‘pink city’ is meticulously constructed on the lines of the Shilpa – Shastra, an ancient Hindu treatise on architecture.
Meet your guide at your Jaipur hotel in Jaipur at approximately 8am. Begin the tour by visiting the Amber Fort. The Amber Fort is situated on a ridge just outside Jaipur City and is beautifully reflected in the lake below. Inside the fort, you will encounter the world-renowned Jai Mandir temple with its dazzling Sheesh Mahal hall of mirrors. The walls and the ceiling of the Mahal are covered with a beautiful array of mirrors, which reflect any streak of light, illuminating the entire room.
Continue the tour by making a photo stop at Jal Mahal around 11am. This Rajput style "Water Palace" sits in the center of the Man Sarobar lake. The lake is often dry during the summer, but the winter monsoons frequently turn it into a beautiful lake filled with water hyacinths.
Next, you will visit the Hawa Mahal, another Rajput landmark also known as the Palace of the Winds, for more photo opportunities. The five story Hawa Mahal was built in 1799A.D. along the main street of the old city. It is a pink sandstone masterpiece with semi-octagonal and delicately honeycombed windows.
Next we visit City Palace, the principle residence of the ruling family and is known for its stunning architecture. Part of it now converted into a magnificent museum. Jantar Mantar, a stone observatory raised in the 18th century.
After Jaipur sightseeing we enjoy a shopping tour in Jaipur, an excellent place to shop and visit cottage industry specializing in hand-woven carpets and textiles. Witness how silk carpets are handmade. Some of the most popular items are precious gemstones, silver jewelry, bangles, clothes, blue pottery, and textiles.
After a memorable day transfer to the Jaipur railway station and your train depart at 5:20pm for New Delhi.
Train arrives at 10:40pm New Delhi railway station and be dropped off at your hotel in Delhi.
