  Jama Masjid

  First, you will visit the Jama Masjid, one of India’s largest mosques, with a courtyard that can hold up to 25,000 devotees. Next, take an exhilarating rickshaw ride (own expense) through the bustling and colorful streets of the shopping bazaar, Chandni Chowk.

  Drive past Red Fort on the way to Raj Ghat, noting the black marble memorial that commemorates the spot of Mahatma Gandhi’s cremation.

  India Gate

  In the afternoon, you will be taken to enjoy a buffet lunch at a local restaurant before traveling to India Gate, a memorial raised in honor of 82,000 soldiers who died during the First World War. From there, you'll drive past government buildings including the President’s House and the Parliament House, which both date back to the time of the British Raj.

  Qutub Minar

  In New Delhi we visit the 11th century Qutab Minar Tower, built by Qutub-ud-din Aibek of the Slave Dynasty, who took possession of Delhi in 1206. It is a red sandstone tower, standing tall at a height of 72.5 metres and is covered with intricate carvings and verses from the holy Qur'an.

  Finally, you will have a chance to stroll the markets and shops in Delhi, which are famous for textiles and handicrafts, jewelry, shoes, bags, leather, carpets, and traditional and contemporary Indian art.
