Depart from Cape Town and travel along the scenic Garden Route towards Mossel Bay. This exclusive backpacker tour has been carefully curated for travellers looking for an authentic experience. Along the way, enjoy changing coastal scenery, open landscapes and coastal views. Next, arrive at Botlierskop Private Game Reserve for a guided safari experience, where you may spot a variety of wildlife. Afterwards, continue to Sedgefield for check in and time to unwind. Finally, the day ends with a relaxed evening braai and dinner at your accommodation.
After breakfast, depart and travel towards Storms River and the scenic Tsitsikamma region. Along the way, enjoy coastal views and lush forests. In the morning, guests may choose adventure activities such as bungy jumping or black water rafting. Afterwards, spend relaxed time exploring Nature’s Valley, famous for its beaches, forests, and peaceful atmosphere. Finally, the day concludes with dinner and an overnight stay in the Tsitsikamma area.
The journey continues with a scenic stop at Knysna Heads, where you can enjoy panoramic views of the lagoon and coastline. Next, travel inland through the Outeniqua Mountains, following a picturesque pass towards Oudtshoorn in the Klein Karoo. Afterwards, visit the world famous Cango Caves, one of South Africa’s most impressive natural attractions, and explore its chambers filled with ancient limestone formations. Finally, enjoy a traditional Karoo style dinner in the evening, tasting authentic local cuisine and experiencing warm hospitality.
Start the day with a guided visit to a working ostrich farm, where you will learn about ostrich farming, breeding and daily operations in the Klein Karoo. After the visit, continue the scenic journey back towards Cape Town, enjoying the changing landscapes along the famous Route 62. Stop for lunch at the popular Diesel and Crème restaurant in Barrydale, well known for its relaxed atmosphere and local flavours. The journey continues to the Robertson Wine Valley for a wine tasting experience at a selected wine estate, offering a taste of the region’s award winning wines. Return to Cape Town in the late afternoon, concluding a full day of authentic South African experiences, countryside views and regional flavours.
