The York Minster was built for the glory of God, and this is reflected in every aspect of this ancient building! It has exquisite, handcrafted stone throughout and has a collection of medieval stained glass.
York City Walls (exterior, 15 mins) York's ancient city wall is the most complete and longest of all the ancient city walls in England. The York City Wall is a 5-kilometer-long square wall built by the Romans as a barrier to defend against foreign enemies. The wall was first built during the Roman rule and was later reinforced by the Danish occupiers. Most of the remaining walls were rebuilt from the 12th to the 14th century. Careful people will find that there are many copper pins on the wall, which were inserted by local archaeologists and engineers in order to accurately determine the location of the restoration project.

Edinburgh, the capital of Scotland, is the epitome of Scottish style. It is the number one visitor attraction place located in Scotland and the most iconic building in the city. Once inside, you can explore some of the oldest and most important buildings of the city, including St Margaret's Chapel, The National War Memorial, and the Half Moon Battery. Here, you will also find the magnificent Grand Hall and Scotland's Crown Jewels - including the famous Stone of Destiny.
Royal Mile The Royal Mile is the central avenue of Edinburgh's Old Town. This street starts at Edinburgh Castle and ends at the Palace of Holyroodhouse. The alleys on both sides are crisscrossed, forming the skeleton of the old town. The cobblestone ground had long been polished to a shine, and the buildings along the avenue were simple and majestic, full of history. Every afternoon, street performers in kilts play bagpipes, reminding visitors that they are in the ancient heart of Scotland.
Edinburgh City Chambers (exterior, 15 mins) Edinburgh City Hall is the office of the City of Edinburgh Council in Edinburgh, the capital of Scotland. It was formerly known as the Royal Exchange and opened in 1760. After the 19th century, it became the offices of the Edinburgh City Council. Edinburgh City Hall is a Grade A listed building in Scotland.
Holyrood Park (30 mins) Holyrood Park is a royal park in the center of Edinburgh, the capital of Scotland, about 1 mile east of Edinburgh Castle. The park covers an area of 650 acres (260 hectares) and has a diverse landscape, adjacent to the Palace of Holyroodhouse.

oday is a condensed tour of the Scottish Highlands, so the itinerary will be a bit rushed and we will just stop here. In the morning, we will drive to the Glenfinnan South Viaduct, where the image of the Scottish ten-pound note is located. This is also the bridge where the Hogwarts Express, the protagonist of the movie "Harry Potter", passes through. It is a popular check-in spot for Harry Potter fans. In the afternoon, we passed through Scotland's first national park, Loch Lomond, which is located on the fault boundary between the Highlands and the Lowlands. There are more than 30 small islands in the lake with beautiful scenery. After taking some photos, we returned to Glasgow. Glenfinnan Viaduct (exterior, 15 mins) If this breathtaking piece of engineering looks familiar to you, it’s because both the viaduct and the steam train that runs over it were featured in four of the Harry Potter films. That’s right, it’s the Hogwarts Express! But you don’t have to be a ‘Potter head’ to appreciate the magic and majesty of Glenfinnan Viaduct; it’s simply breathtaking to behold and attracts visitors from all across the globe. It’s the longest concrete railway bridge in Scotland and traverses a thousand feet over the River Finnan, one hundred feet above the ground, passing through some of the most atmospheric and unspoilt scenery you’re ever likely to see. It’s so iconic it was featured on the 2007 Scottish £10 note!
Loch Ness Loch Ness is one of many connected Scottish Highland lakes. Its water is very turbid due to a large amount of floating algae and peat, and the visibility in the water is extremely low, less than two meters. The lake bottom has a complex terrain with many caves. It is also the second deepest and second largest lake in Scotland and the United Kingdom, with an area of 56.4 square kilometers and a maximum depth of 226 meters. Due to its depth, the amount of water stored in it is more than the total amount of all freshwater lakes in England and Wales.
Loch Lomond Loch Lomond is a freshwater lake located on the Scottish Highland Boundary Fault. Loch Lomond is also the largest lake in Great Britain, with many islands on the lake, such as Malin Island, the largest freshwater island in the British Isles.
After setting off in the morning, we will stop by Gretna Green, a famous Scottish town for people to escape their marriages, for a short visit. After arriving in the Lake District, you can choose to take a sightseeing boat or a historic steam train to explore Lake Windermere or visit the Peter Rabbit Museum. After the tour, head to Manchester. It is not only the headquarters of the football powerhouse Manchester United, but also an important industrial center in England. We will visit the football mecca - the exterior of the Manchester United Stadium, Old Trafford, and then proceed to the city for free activities. After dinner, we will drive to Manchester or a nearby city to check in and rest. Gretna Green Grenate Green, known as the "runaway wedding town", is one of the most famous wedding venues in the world.
Windermere Lake (60 mins) Windermere, known as "the most beautiful natural scenery in England" is a famous tourist center. The Windermere lake was formed at the end of the last glacial period in a glacial valley running north-south through the Khumbulian Mountains. It is part of the Lake District National Park and has yacht entertainment in summer. Here, you can stroll through the lake district, which the British call "the back garden” to enjoy the beautiful scenery along the way.
Windermere Lake Cruise + Steam Train (Optional, 50 mins) Take a boat tour of the lake area of Windermere to admire the lakes and mountains that overlook the villas in the valley like a fairy tale world. The steam train, left in the last industrial period in Britain, still maintain its former appearance. When the train leaves the station, it emits a huge steam mist that spreads throughout the station and disappears into the mountains through the old trestle bridge. Tips: 1. The Windermere Lake District Steam Railway is closed from November to March of the following year.
Old Trafford (exterior, 15 mins) Old Trafford Stadium is the world-famous home of Manchester United. Unusual aspects of the ground include the raised pitch, and that the teams enter the field from the corner of the Sir Bobby Charlton Stand. Outside the ground is the Sir Matt Busby Statue fronting the impressive green glassed East Stand facade, whilst above the entrance to the Club Museum outside the North Stand is a statue of Sir Alex Ferguson. There is also a clock and plaque in remembrance of the Munich disaster. Across Sir Matt Busby Way is the United Trinity Statue of three of the 1968 European Cup winning team; George Best, Denis Law and Bobby Charlton (now Sir).
In the morning, we will set off to Shakespeare's hometown: Stratford, located on the banks of the Avon River, which the British call Shakespeare's World. Here, you can visit the former residence of a great writer and the church where he is buried. Most of the names of the town's streets, hotels, restaurants, and theater facilities are related to Shakespeare. After your visit, return to London. Passing by the large brand-name direct shopping village Bicester Village, there are more than 160 well-known brands, most of the goods are sold at discounted prices. If there is a clearance sale or seasonal price reduction, then it is extremely cheap. We will arrive in London in the evening, officially ending this fulfilling journey!
