Malo Grablje is a hauntingly beautiful abandoned village on Hvar Island, often known as a “ghost village” due to its long history of depopulation. Fortica, also known as Španjola Fortress, sits high above the town of Hvar and offers one of the most spectacular panoramic views of the Pakleni Islands and the Adriatic Sea. Built in the 16th century during Venetian rule, it served as a defensive stronghold protecting the town from invasions and pirate attacks. Today, it is one of Hvar’s most iconic landmarks, blending rich history with breathtaking scenery and a glimpse into the island’s strategic past. (we are not entering the fortress just stopping for a view)
