About 2h 45min from Frankfurt we will cross the German border into Alsace for a grape day out along the Alsace wine route.
Alsace is a charming and humbling wine region loaded with history and its own unique cooler climate wine and rustic cuisine. The wine route passes through charming, quaint -fairytale, fortified villages and rolling vineyards set against a back drop of the Vosges mountains speckled with castle ruins.
'Trust me' to take you beyond the busier, tourist packed cities of Strasbourg and Colmar on a grape escape to discover some of the smaller, charming medieval villages like Kaysersberg, Riquewihr, Obernai, or Barr visiting 2-3 independent wineries for more personal wine tastings. We will also stop for lunch a local brasserie cooking regional delights like Charcuterie and Tarte Flammbe.
Visiting Strasbourg & Colmar possible on request...They are busier cities, take more time out of the day. Recommended as part of an overnight trip... Message me for a custom tour.
There is always a 15-minute pick-up window to allow for any traffic or delay, and I will always text on approach. Please reach out if you have any special pick-up requests. Airport pick-up or drop-off is possible. I also suggest staying in Mainz. Mainz, the wine capital of Germany, is also a great alternative to Frankfurt, has great connectivity, sits on the Rhein, and has a lot of old Germanic history and charm.
