This trail begins along the Faial da Terra stream, following a charming path bordered by Australian cheesewood trees. Along the way, you’ll pass a historic watermill and see small fruit trees lining both sides of the stream. A short walk brings you to a bridge that leads to Salto do Prego waterfall — a perfect spot to relax and soak in the natural beauty. After enjoying the waterfall, you’ll continue to the old village of Sanguinho, which has recently been restored. Here, you’ll encounter traditional architecture and small farm holdings. Keep an eye out for Azorean buckthorn, an endemic plant that gives Sanguinho its name (meaning 'little blood' in Portuguese)."
