Join us for a memorable day trek from Marrakech to the beautiful Imlil Valley in the High Atlas Mountains, where you’ll experience stunning landscapes, traditional Berber culture, and a delicious lunch in nature. Your day begins with a morning pick-up from your accommodation in the Marrakech Medina or nearby hotels. You’ll leave the hustle of the city behind and head south towards the mountains. The first stop will be in the small town of Tahnaout, where you’ll have a chance to take photos by the river and visit a local women’s Argan oil cooperative. Here, you’ll learn about the traditional methods of producing Morocco’s famous Argan oil.

From Tahnaout, the journey continues through the scenic roads of the Atlas Mountains, passing by terraced hills and small villages. You’ll stop briefly in the town of Asni, just beside the famous Kasbah Tamadot owned by Sir Richard Branson, for a fantastic photo opportunity overlooking the Asni Valley.

3Imlil
Next, you’ll arrive in Imlil, a picturesque mountain village located at the foot of Mount Toubkal, North Africa’s highest peak. In Imlil, you’ll meet your local mountain guide who will lead you on a gentle trek through the village and up towards the peaceful Tidli Forest. Surrounded by pine and juniper trees, this is a perfect escape into nature.

After a refreshing walk, you’ll stop for a traditional Berber lunch in a beautiful natural setting—perhaps under walnut trees or with a view of the surrounding valleys. The meal will include local specialties like tagine, fresh bread, Moroccan salads, and mint tea, served with warm Berber hospitality. Following lunch, you’ll continue your walk back down to Imlil, passing by the charming Imlil waterfalls along the way. Take your time enjoying the serene atmosphere and capturing the last moments of your mountain escape. Once back in the village, you’ll reunite with your driver and begin the return journey to Marrakech.
