Gunung Mulu National Park is a protected rainforest in Malaysian Borneo. It’s known for its dramatic peaks and caves, including the huge, bat-filled Deer Cave. The cave leads to the Garden of Eden, a hidden valley and waterfall enclosed by limestone cliffs. The Pinnacles at Gunung Api are tall, jagged limestone formations with steep trails and rare orchids. The summit of Gunung Mulu Mountain has views over the park.The Headhunter’s Trail is a great way of entering or leaving Gunung Mulu National Park. The trek is organizes by travel operators and combines upriver travel, jungle trekking and an overnight stay at an Iban longhouse. The trail itself follows the route taken by Kayan headhunting parties who paddled up the Melinau River to Melinau Gorge. They then dragged their longboats through the forest for 3 km until they reached the banks of the Terikan River, where they launched headhunting raids against the people of the Limbang area.
Upon arrival Mulu Airport, transfer to your choice of accommodation for check in
In the afternoon, meet at resort lobby and transfer to Mulu National Park headquarters for registration and proceed on plank walk for 3km to reach Lang’s Cave & Deer Cave. After exploring the caves, proceed on plank observatory to observe bats flying out of caves entrance at late evening (Only confine to fine weather). Return journey on the same plank walk to park headquarters and transfer back to your accommodation
After breakfast transfers by longboat proceed to Batu Bungan - Penan Settlement, to observe the tribe lifestyle and to select handicrafts on display for sale at Penan Settlement. Continue journey by longboat to Wind Cave and Clearwater Cave. Picnic lunch at Clearwater summer huts and later on you can enjoy swimming at Clearwater spring. Late afternoon transfer to Kuala Litut, then jungle trek for 3 hours to Camp 05. Dinner and overnight at Camp 05.
Breakfast at Camp 05. After breakfast ascend to Gunung Api for 03 hours to view the magnificent Pinnacles. During the climb you will see many species of plants, all types of insects within this virgin jungle of Borneo. Packed lunch will be serve at the observatory point.
After lunch descend to Camp 05. Dinner and overnight at Camp 05.
Breakfast at Camp 05 and walk through lowland forest to Terikan river (Packed lunch), then by longboat down the Terikan and medalam rivers to longhouse. Dinner and overnight at longhouse.
Breakfast at longhouse. After breakfast transfer by longboat down the river to Nanga Medamit, then by road to the town of Limbang. Afternoon transfer to Limbang Airport for flight back to Miri or next destination.
