    Lake Kawaguchiko

Enjoy a relaxing cruise across Lake Kawaguchi aboard the sightseeing boat Appare. This comfortable cruise offers sweeping, unobstructed views of Mt. Fuji from the water—one of the best vantage points in the entire area. As you glide across the lake, you can admire Fuji’s symmetrical form reflected on the water’s surface (weather permitting), along with panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and shoreline. The Appare provides excellent photo opportunities and a peaceful way to experience the natural beauty of the Fuji Five Lakes region.

    Oishi Park

Oishi Park, home to the Kawaguchiko Natural Living Center, sits along the northern shore of Lake Kawaguchi and is one of the area’s most scenic waterfront parks. The park is famous for its vibrant seasonal flowers, especially lavender, and also serves as the main venue of the Kawaguchiko Herb Festival. Lavender begins to bloom in late June and lasts until mid-July, creating a stunning purple carpet with Lake Kawaguchi and Mt. Fuji perfectly framed in the background—an iconic view unique to Oishi Park. In mid-October, the park transforms again as the kochia (broom grass) turns a brilliant red. The contrast of the crimson hillsides and the deep blue of Mt. Fuji creates one of the most photogenic autumn scenes in the region.

    Oshino Hakkai

Oshino Hakkai (meaning the "eight seas of Oshino") is a picturesque set of eight crystal-clear spring ponds in the village of Oshino, located between Lake Kawaguchiko and Lake Yamanakako. The ponds were formed on the site of a former lake that dried up centuries ago. They are fed by snowmelt from Mount Fuji, which filters through layers of lava for more than 80 years, creating remarkably clear and pure spring water. One of the ponds has a spot where visitors can drink the cool water directly from the source. Many of the ponds are surprisingly deep, with vibrant aquatic plants and large fish visible through the transparent water. Although the area is popular and can become crowded, it still retains a peaceful, traditional atmosphere. Around the ponds, you’ll find small restaurants, souvenir shops, and food stalls selling local vegetables, sweets, pickles, and crafts, along with the inviting aromas of roasted sweet potatoes and freshly grilled rice crackers.

    Arakura Fuji Sengen Shrine

Arakura Fuji Sengen-jinja Shrine and its famous five-storied Chureito Pagoda stand in the scenic Arakurayama Sengen Park, one of the most iconic photo spots in Japan. The pagoda sits high on a hillside overlooking Fujiyoshida City, offering sweeping views of Mount Fuji framed by traditional architecture and beautiful seasonal scenery. After climbing the steps through a peaceful forest path, visitors are rewarded with a spectacular panorama. During cherry blossom season, the park becomes especially famous, as you can capture Mt. Fuji, sakura flowers, and the red pagoda all in one unforgettable photograph. The area is equally striking in autumn when the foliage turns vibrant red and gold. With its breathtaking Fuji views, cultural atmosphere, and dramatic seasonal colors, Arakurayama Sengen Park is a must-visit destination for photographers, nature lovers, and travelers exploring the Fuji Five Lakes region.
