8:00 AM - Pick up from your hotel in Mangalore Your driver will arrive at your hotel in Mangalore at 8:00 AM, ready to take you on your full day excursion to Belur and Halebeedu. 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM - Drive to Belur (180kms/ 4hrs approx one way) You'll start your journey towards Belur, which is approximately 180 kilometers from Mangalore. The drive will take approximately 4 hours, during which you can sit back, relax, and enjoy the scenic beauty of the region.
12:00 PM to 1:00 PM - Visit Chennakeshava Temple in Belur Upon arriving in Belur, you'll head straight to the Chennakeshava Temple, which is widely regarded as one of the finest examples of Hoysala architecture. The temple is a star-shaped structure on a raised platform, made of black stone with intricate carvings. You can see the winged figure of Garuda at the entrance, and 650 charging elephants on the frieze around the walls outside. During your visit to the temple, you'll have the opportunity to admire the intricate carvings and sculptures that adorn the temple walls, including the exotic bracket figures that are serene, playful, and amorous.
