    Plitvice Lakes National Park

Plitvice Lakes is the first and largest national park in Croatia. It’s situated in the mountainous region of the country. Since 1997, the boundaries of the park were expanded and now it covers an area of almost 300 square kilometers. Its system is formed of 16 lakes, which cascade one into the next. Here you’ll have the option to choose up to seven different routes to tour the lake system, and four hiking trails. The routes are named as trails A, B, C, E, F, H K with the length of between 3 km to 18 km. Most of the routes involve a visit to Veliki Slap (Great Waterfall) and Sastavci in Lower Lakes, some include a boat trip across the Kozjak lake. Four Trails are as follow: Trail A (2-3 hours - 3.5km - easy) lower lakes only as it starts and ends at Entrance 1. ... Trail B (3-4 hours -4km - easy) similar to Trail A but includes sailing on lake Kozjaka. Trail C (4-6 hours - 8km - moderate) extended Trail B including a visit to the upper lakes.
