There 2 options to operate this tour, either in a shared group (you will be added to a group of tourist around 15 people per group) or you can select the Private Option if you are traveling with family and / or friends. The main Archaeological Site of Oaxaca, Monte Alban, considered Cultural Heritage by the UNESCO, this zone is conformed by a great rectangular square surrounded by palaces, temples, shrines, ball games and tombs. Please be aware that during pandemic period we might require to wait our turn to entrance the Archaeological site. Waiting time might be as long as 1.5 hours without availability of restroom nor restaurant.
The next stop will be Arrazola, place where the creativity of its artisans is reflected on small pieces of copal wood, creating a fantastic zoology called Alebrijes.
Continue your trip to Cuilapam de Guerrero, where you will admire a majestic Dominican convent set of the XVI Century where the main attractions are the Open Chapel, the unconcluded Basilical Church and the imposing Ex-Convent of Cuilapam. Please be aware that during this pandemic period, the Ex-convent might be closed to tourism entrance, in that case, we can admire this impressive building from outside and have time for pictures.
The last stop of this excursion will be San Bartolo de Coyotepec, where you will fall in love with the pottery pieces of black mud elaborated by the local artisans, creating pieces of extraordinary beauty with unique techniques. At Doña Rosa Studio you will have a demonstration how the Black Pottery is made.
The community of Santa Maria el Tule, recognized by hosting "El Arbol del Tule" (Tule Tree) one of the most extraordinary natural beauties of Oaxaca, a giant Sabine of approximately 2000 years old. Please be aware that during pandemic period, Tule Tree might not be fully available to get closer; in that case, we can admire this amazing tree from the distance 50 to 100 meters away.
You will continue your trip towards Teotitlan del Valle, a beautiful artisan town developer of wool rugs, created on homemade looms, using for its coloration natural dyes.
Later you will visit the Sacred City of Mitla, an important ceremony center where the ecclesiastic power of the Zapotec Culture settled, you could admire the harmony between its buildings and the proportion of its backyards highlighted by the extraordinary ornaments represented by frets captured on walls, which make this place unique in Mesoamerica. Hierve el Agua is a petrified waterfall, you will have opportunity to walk around and admire the amazing view of this ecotourist place.
You will visit a Mezcal Factory where you will test the different Mezcal types are made in Oaxaca. You will enjoy Gusanito (mezcal with Agave bugs) or Reposado (aged mezcal). After this, you will return to Oaxaca City.
