A tour of Soweto’s historic sites and lunch at a popular restaurant in the heart of Orlando West is a wonderful way to learn more about events that shaped South Africa’s turbulent past and experience the vibrant cultural diversity of the modern city.
After a Pick Up, We continue on through Orlando West to the hub of Soweto. We stop outside Regina Mundi Church and Freedom Square for a quick overview (optional to go inside) and then go to the Hector Pieterson Museum for a formal tour.

We make our way down the vibrant Vilakazi Street, past iconic monuments and the homes of Nelson and Winnie Mandela and Archbishop Desmond Tutu. Time permitting, you have the option of stopping at Nelson Mandela Museum for a visit (own cost). The morning ends at a popular restaurant at the base of the massive Soweto Towers. Enjoy a traditional meal of ‘shisa nyama’ and visit the craft market.
