On the first day of the expedition, we meet in the morning at Teresópolis Bus Station for the transfer to Três Picos State Park. After preparation, we begin the hike toward Pedra dos Dois Bicos, in the Vale das Sebastianas, accessed via Fazenda Quinta do Pinhal. The trail is moderate, covering about 3.5 km with 420 meters of elevation gain, leading to the Bico Maior summit (1,520 m), where panoramic views of the Vale dos Frades set the tone for the journey. The route continues past the Ferro de Passar Roupa and Pedra Entalada, ideal stops for rest and photos, before reaching the Torre Central, the highest point of the day with expansive views of the park. After descending, we stop for lunch at a traditional local restaurant (not included) and then head to Refúgio das Águas, where the day ends with artisanal pizzas and well-earned rest.

On the second day of our expedition through the Three Peaks State Park, we’ll head toward the impressive rock formation known as Caixa de Fósforos — also called by some Pedra dos Milagres (Miracle Rock) due to its unique and seemingly impossible shape. Along the way, we’ll cross the inspiring Vale dos Deuses (Valley of the Gods) and make a stop at the Cabeça do Dragão Viewpoint, one of the most scenic spots of the entire crossing. Upon reaching Caixa de Fósforos, the more adventurous participants can climb to its base through a short section equipped with safety gear, from where it’s possible to admire a privileged view of the Vale dos Deuses, Vale dos Frades, and the majestic peaks of Nova Friburgo. After an intense day filled with breathtaking landscapes, we’ll continue to the Imaginário Shelter, where a warm dinner awaits — the perfect moment to restore energy and enjoy the magic and tranquility of the Vale dos Deuses.

Vale dos Deuses x Cachoeira dos Frades x Teresópolis Bus Station

On our last day of expedition through the Vale dos Deuses, we’ll say goodbye to the shelter and pack our backpacks to continue toward the Vale dos Frades, along one of the most classic and stunning routes in the Three Peaks State Park. The trail, with its impressive scenic beauty, passes once again by the Caixa de Fósforos, revealing new angles of this incredible rock formation before we begin our descent toward the Vale dos Frades — a landscape often compared to Yosemite National Park in the United States for the grandeur of its mountains and valleys. Our final destination is the Cachoeira dos Frades, a 10-meter (33-foot) waterfall that forms a wide natural pool surrounded by lush vegetation. It’s the perfect place to relax and celebrate the end of our journey, diving into the pure mountain waters and admiring the greatness of nature. We’ll conclude our expedition returning to Teresópolis, carrying with us unforgettable memories and the transformative energy of the Vale dos Deuses.
