    Day 1

    Kakadu National Park - Burrungkuy (Nourlangie) Region

    Our journey begins with pick up from your Darwin accommodation, before embarking on a scenic drive towards Kakadu National Park. Our first stop is at the South Alligator River, where we can observe the diverse birdlife and perhaps catch a glimpse of a saltwater crocodile basking on the riverbanks. Continuing deeper into Kakadu, we visit the Burrungkuy (Nourlangie) Rock Art Site, renowned for its ancient Aboriginal rock art galleries. Nearby, Anbangbang Billabong offers a serene setting to spot water birds and soak in the natural beauty. Next, a short drive takes us to Nawurlandja Lookout, where we're treated to breathtaking panoramic views. We delve further into Aboriginal culture at the Warradjan Aboriginal Cultural Centre. As the day draws to a close, experience the magic of Kakadu's wetlands with a Yellow Water Sunset Cruise. Glide along the tranquil waters, surrounded by lush landscapes and abundant wildlife, with the setting sun painting the sky in hues of orange and pink.

    Kakadu National Park - Ubirr Region

    After a hearty campfire breakfast we head north to explore Ubirr, another significant Aboriginal rock art site where intricate artworks adorn rock shelters, telling stories of creation and daily life spanning thousands of years. A walk through this multi level art site takes us to Nadab Lookout, to enjoy the sweeping views over the floodplains and Arnhem Land escarpment. After lunch, we embark on the Guluyambi Cultural Cruise on the East Alligator River with a local Aboriginal guide who shares cultural insights and traditional stories. This unique experience also offers the opportunity to step into Arnhem Land, as well as a visit to Cahills Crossing. Afterwards, we visit Jabiru Township for a glimpse of modern life in Kakadu and explore the Marrawuddi Art Gallery, showcasing contemporary Aboriginal art from the region, before returning to Mardukal Campground for another night immersed in the natural beauty of Kakadu.

    Southern Kakadu National Park - Off the Beaten Track

    Today's adventure begins with a visit to Maguk (Barramundi Gorge), where a short hike through monsoon forest leads to a pristine swimming hole surrounded by towering cliffs. Take a refreshing dip in the cool waters or simply relax amidst the tranquil surroundings. We continue our way south, with a visit to Ikoymarrwa (Moline Rockhole), another hidden gem offering a quieter experience in Kakadu's rugged landscapes. En route, we stop at Pine Creek Township to stretch our legs and learn about the region's mining history before settling in for the night at Gorge View or Nitmiluk Campground, enjoying the serenity of our surroundings.

    Nitmiluk National Park

    Today we explore Nitmiluk National Park, home to the spectacular Katherine Gorge. Arriving early, we board the Nit Nit Dreaming Cruise, which navigates the tranquil waters flanked by towering sandstone cliffs and learn about the gorge's geological formations, cultural significance, and the Dreamtime stories of the Jawoyn people who have called this area home for thousands of years. After the cruise, visit the nearby Katherine Hot Springs for a relaxing soak in the natural thermal pools, surrounded by lush greenery. Then, we continue to Leliyn (Edith Falls), where we can swim in crystal-clear pools fed by cascading waterfalls, offering a refreshing break. Later in the afternoon, we journey to Adelaide River, where we'll spend the night at Mount Bundy Station, a historic cattle station offering a taste of outback hospitality and a chance to unwind after a day filled with natural wonders.

    Litchfield National Park

    Today, we visit Litchfield National Park. Our first destination are the Magnetic and Cathedral Termite Mounds, intriguing formations crafted by nature's smallest architects. We continue our journey to Florence Falls, where we can swim beneath the cascading waterfall or unwind on the rocks surrounded by lush monsoon forest. This tranquil oasis invites us to soak in the beauty and serenity of Litchfield National Park. Next, we refresh ourselves with a swim at Buley Rockhole, a series of picturesque cascading rock pools that offer the perfect spot for a revitalising dip to feel the cool, crystal-clear waters amidst the serene natural surroundings. Next up is Wangi Falls, one of Litchfield's most iconic attractions. Enjoy a swim in the expansive plunge pool, take a walk to the viewing platform or simply relax in the shaded picnic area, soaking up the breathtaking scenery. As the day winds down, we return to the tropical city of Darwin and drop you off at your accommodation.
