These are two of the park’s most spectacular mountain formations, and they’re truly a sight to behold.
After that, you’ll hop on a shuttle bus to Kongzhongtianyuan. From there, you’ll be able to see some amazing rice fields perched on top of the stone pillars—it’s really a spectacular sight. Then, you’ll hike down to a viewing platform where you can get up close to the pillar-like mountains, offering one of the best views in the entire park!
Next, you’ll take a shuttle bus to the top of the Yuanjiajie area, which became famous thanks to the movie Avatar. Here, you’ll be at the same height as the massive mid-aged stone pillars, which are even bigger than the ones at Tianzi Mountain. After enjoying the views, you’ll take the world’s highest outdoor elevator down, then catch a shuttle bus to the park’s exit.
Morning, transfer about 40 minutes to the Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon, a stunning new discovery just outside Zhangjiajie National Park. It’s now very popular, thanks to the world’s longest glass bridge—430 meters long and over 300 meters above the ground. Walking on it is definitely a test of courage! Walking on the transparent glass is an unforgettable experience, perfect for those seeking a bit of adventure. From there, you can choose to add some adventure by taking an exciting zip line and slide or, if you prefer, an elevator and slide down to the bottom of the canyon.
Hiking along the grand canyon, along the way, you’ll encounter beautiful natural landscapes, caves, and unique rock formations carved by thousands of years of erosion. For those who prefer a more relaxed experience, staying on the bridge to enjoy the sweeping views of the canyon and surrounding mountains is equally rewarding. The combination of natural beauty and modern engineering makes Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon a must-see destination for nature lovers and thrill-seekers alike.
Next, you’ll head to Baofeng Lake, where you can relax and enjoy a peaceful boat cruise. As you glide across the calm waters, you’ll have the chance to listen to beautiful mountain songs performed by local minority singers, adding a special cultural touch to the experience.
In the morning, you’ll check out and head to one of the most beautiful valleys in the world—the Golden Whip Brook. Here, you’ll see towering peaks that rise straight into the sky, like giant natural skyscrapers. The Chinese have given these majestic formations many poetic names, reflecting their beauty. As you hike along the stream, you’ll enjoy the crystal-clear water, fresh air, and well-preserved natural surroundings. It’s a peaceful, relaxing walk where you can truly soak in the stunning scenery.
After that, you’ll transfer to Tianmen Mountain, located right in the city center. It’s the highest mountain in Zhangjiajie and is famous for having the longest cable car in the world. You’ll enjoy a breathtaking 30-minute ride covering about 7.5 km, taking you directly to the mountain’s summit. Once at the top, get ready for an exhilarating walk along the glass plank road, built against the side of the towering cliffs—it’s truly a thrilling experience! You’ll also see the world’s highest natural karst cave, known as Tianmen Cave, which pierces right through the mountain. This stunning natural arch is often called a “unique sight under heaven” and is deeply connected to local legends about heavenly culture and fairies. As you explore, you’ll come across beautiful trees, striking karst formations, and a variety of medicinal herbs and plants that thrive on the mountain. After your adventure, you’ll be transferred to the train station or airport, marking the end of your journey.
