This tour crosses the Western Belize–Guatemala border. The border crossing process with us is simple and assisted by our team. You will first pay the Belize departure tax (USD 20) per person and receive an exit stamp in your passport. We will then assist you at the Guatemalan border, where you will receive your entry stamp. The entire border crossing process takes approximately 30 minutes.
After approximately 1 hour of driving within Guatemala, we will make a brief stop to take photos of Lake Petén Itzá, one of the three largest lakes in Guatemala.
After a total 2-hour drive from the border, you will arrive at Tikal National Park, where it’s time to get ready for your guided tour. Your local expert guide will lead you through the highlights of the Tikal Archaeological Site, including the Great Plaza with Temple I and Temple II, the North Acropolis, the Central Acropolis, Temple III, Temple IV, and the Lost World complex. You will have free time to climb selected temples and take photos from the best viewpoints, as recommended by your guide. While walking along the jungle trails, you may spot local flora and wildlife, such as spider monkeys, howler monkeys, coatis, turkeys, toucans, and many other bird species. After an approximately 3.5 to 4-hour guided tour, it will be time to begin the return journey.
On the way back from Tikal, we will drive approximately 30 minutes to a local restaurant to enjoy the included lunch. You will have five menu options to choose from, including vegetarian and vegan options, with one drink included. Sit back and enjoy your meal served with handmade corn tortillas.
After lunch, we will drive approximately 1.5 hours back to the border. Our team will assist you with the border crossing to return to Belize. No border fees are required on the return crossing.
