The Tsitsernakaberd memorial complex was built in 1967 in memory of the victims of the first genocide in the modern history of mankind, arranged by the Turks in 1915. The memorial complex consists of a 44-meter Stela, a cone of 12 plates, a 100-meter wall of mourning and the Museum. At the Memorial entrance there is also a garden with trees planted by leaders of different countries. The memorial is surrounded by a huge territory, where every year, on April 24, million Armenian people from Armenia and the diaspora rise to honor the memory of the victims.

The next point of our interesting excursion is the famous and majestic Cascade Monument. The construction project was laid back in 1924, by the legendary architector A. Tamanyan. According to his plan, the monument was to connect the north of the city with the center for walking citizens. Work began in the 80s, but lasted for several years and was suspended due to the fall of the USSR and the Karabakh war. The work was reorganized again in 2002, by an American philanthropist of Armenian descent Gerard Gefeschyan, who bought the project and started the work. Since 2009, there is operating the Museum of Art, named after Gefeschyan.

    Republic Square

The Republic Square began to be built in 1924 by the most famous architector of Armenia, Alexander Tamanyan, and was completed until 1977 (although most of the buildings were built in 1950). An area of 30,000 square meters of white and pink tuff is the main attraction and the heart of modern Yerevan. The project consists of five buildings: Government House, Main Post Office, Marriott Hotel, the former Foreign Ministry building and the Museum of History and the Art Gallery.
