    Day 1: Arrival in Srinagar – Beginning of Acclimatization Your Umlingla Pass Cycling Expedition begins as you land at Srinagar Airport, situated at an altitude of 1,585 meters (5,200 feet). This first stop plays a crucial role in your acclimatization process, helping your body gradually adjust to the higher altitudes you’ll encounter in the coming days. Our MTB Kashmir executive will receive you at the airport and assist with your transfer to the hotel in Srinagar. The day is kept for rest and light activity — you may explore Dal Lake or nearby local markets at your own pace. Spending the first night in Srinagar ensures a comfortable and safe start to your journey, preparing you for the adventure ahead towards Leh (3,500m) and finally the mighty Umlingla Pass (19,024 ft).     Day 2: Srinagar to Kargil via Zojila Pass (By Car)

    After breakfast, begin your scenic drive from Srinagar to Kargil, a journey of around 200 km that takes you through some of the most stunning mountain landscapes in Kashmir and Ladakh. The route ascends gradually through Sonamarg, known as the “Meadow of Gold,” and then climbs towards the mighty Zojila Pass (3,528 meters) — the gateway to Ladakh. Crossing this high mountain pass offers breathtaking views of snow-capped peaks and dramatic valleys. After crossing Zojila, descend into the historic town of Drass, one of the coldest inhabited places in the world, and continue onward to Kargil, located at an altitude of about 2,676 meters. Arrive in Kargil by evening and check in at your hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure for rest and acclimatization.

    Zojila Pass – Gateway to Ladakh Zojila Pass is one of the most iconic mountain passes in India, situated at an altitude of 3,528 meters (11,575 feet). It connects Srinagar in Kashmir with the Ladakh region, making it a crucial and scenic route for travelers and adventurers. The pass is known for its dramatic landscapes, with snow-clad peaks, deep valleys, and winding roads that offer breathtaking views at every turn. During the journey, you can witness the stark beauty of the Himalayas, with glaciers, rugged cliffs, and streams adding to the charm. Crossing Zojila is not just a drive—it’s an experience of thrill and awe, as you ascend through one of the highest motorable passes in the region, preparing your body for the higher altitudes of Leh and beyond.     Day 3: Kargil to Leh (By Car)

    After an early breakfast, embark on the drive from Kargil to Leh, covering approximately 220 km through the heart of Ladakh’s majestic landscapes. This route takes you across high mountain passes, barren valleys, and sparkling rivers, offering some of the most breathtaking scenery in the Indian Himalayas. En route, you will cross: Fotu La Pass (4,108 m / 13,474 ft) – Known for its panoramic views of the Suru Valley. Namika La Pass (3,700 m / 12,139 ft) – A relatively gentle pass with spectacular mountain vistas. Lachulung La Pass (5,059 m / 16,600 ft) – One of the higher passes on the route, offering dramatic landscapes and a sense of the high-altitude terrain. The drive also provides opportunities to see the Indus River, remote villages, and the stark, rugged beauty of Ladakh’s high desert landscape. By evening, arrive in Leh, the capital of Ladakh, at an altitude of 3,500 meters (11,500 ft). Check in at your hotel and rest, allowing your body to acclimatize to the high altitude.
